How to create your daily Nagi Matcha Ritual
Step 1: Choose your moment
Select a quiet time - morning to energize, afternoon to refocus, or evening for mindful reflection. We advise to not drink matcha in the evening, as it does contain caffeine, but you choose your flow.
Step 2: Prepare your tools
- Nagi organic ceremonial matcha (we prefer 2g-3g)
- Chawan (matcha bowl)
- Chasen (bamboo whisk)
- Chashaku (bamboo spoon)
- Small sifter
- Cool, room temperature water
- Warm water (~75°C / 170°F)
- Your favourite cup
- (Plant based) milk to your liking
Step 3: Mindful preparation
- Measure the matcha into your sifter
- Sift the powder into the bowl using the bamboo spoon
- Add in just a few drops of cool water and slowly whisk into a thick paste
- Pour hot water into the bowl slowly
- Briefly whisk in a “W” or “M” motion until frothy
- Once matcha is frothy move the whisk to the surface and start to slow down the movement, watch as a microfoam forms
- Pour tea into your chosen cup
- Either drink it pure or add in milk to your liking
Step 4: Savour
- Take a moment to inhale the aroma
- Sip slowly, appreciating the natural sweetness and umami flavour
- Focus on the warmth, colour, and texture. Allow yourself to pause
Step 5: Reflect
- Spend a few moments breathing or journaling
- Carry the sense of calm and focus into the rest of your day
